Running the AI Agent on a schedule

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Agent schedules let the agent run without you in the chat. You describe the job once, choose when it runs, and it works in the background and delivers the result.

What it is for

Anything you would otherwise have to remember to ask every Monday. For example:

  • “Every Monday at 09:00, send me a Slack recap of which campaigns performed best last week.”

  • “Every morning, flag new replies that look like buying intent.”

  • “On the first of the month, pull last month’s sequence analytics.”

  • “Every Friday at 17:00, email my manager and me a summary of this week's replies.”

Setting one up

Go to Settings → Agent Schedules and click New schedule. You can also ask the agent in chat to set one up for you. Describe the task the way you would in a normal chat, then choose when it runs: once at a set time, or on a repeat. Set the time and timezone. The Next 3 runs preview shows exactly when it will fire.

Where the result goes

  • No delivery. The answer stays in the schedule's conversation, waiting for you in Topo.

  • Slack DM. The answer is sent to you in Slack.

  • Slack channel. The answer is posted to a Slack channel.

  • Email. The answer is emailed to the people you list, up to 10, whether or not they have a Topo account. The email holds the full answer, so they don't need to log in.

Both Slack options need the Slack integration connected (see 📄 Slack Integration). Email doesn't.

A Slack DM can only go to you. To share the result with other people, use a Slack channel or email.

Each schedule has one delivery option. To change it, or anything else about a schedule, click ⋯ on the schedule in Settings → Agent Schedules and edit it.

Pausing a schedule

Pause a schedule to stop its future runs. A result that has already been delivered stays where it was sent.

What a scheduled run can do

The same as the agent anywhere else. A scheduled run gets the full feature set: analytics, CRM data, sequences, notifications, plus your skills and your agent memory. Whether you launch the agent from Slack, from the app, or from a schedule, it is the same agent underneath.
