Using the AI Agent in Slack

Last updated: September 3, 2026

The same AI Agent you use in Topo is now available in Slack. Ask it a question in a channel, or message the Topo app directly, and you get the same agent with the same access to your workspace.

Before you start

The Slack integration must be connected: Settings, then Integrations, then Connect Slack. You need to be a Slack admin to do this. See 📄 Slack Integration.

Two ways to talk to it

In the Topo app. Open Topo in your Slack sidebar and message it like you would a colleague. This is the better of the two, since you get the whole conversation in one place without channel noise, increased performance and the full set of capabilities.

In a channel. Mention @Topo in any channel the app has been invited to, then ask your question.

What it can do

Everything it does in Topo. It is the same agent, not a cut-down version: it reads your lists, sequences, analytics and CRM data, and it can act on them. Ask it to pull last week’s sequence performance, list your recent closed deals, or draft a sequence for a new audience.

Replies are built for Slack. You get a loading state while it works, then a formatted message back. When the agent needs a decision from you it posts buttons, so you tap rather than type.

Moving back to Topo

Ask the agent to send you back to Topo and it hands you a link into the app, where you can carry on the same conversation with the full page in front of you. Useful once a request stops being a question and turns into work you want to watch.

Good to know

  • Every Topo user has access to the agent, in Slack as well as in the app.

  • It still asks before it acts. Nothing is created and no lead is contacted until you confirm.

  • A channel conversation is visible to everyone in that channel. Keep anything sensitive in the Topo app DM.
