LinkedIn Senders
Last updated: June 5, 2026
A LinkedIn Sender is a connected LinkedIn account for invitations and messages.
Connection methods: Email + password (recommended) or cookies.
Status: Valid / Invalid (needs reconnection) / Deleted.
Daily/weekly limits: Messages: 30/day, 150/week. Invitations: 100/week. Invitation message length: 200 characters. Note: beyond the character limit, LinkedIn also enforces a cap on the number of connection requests that can include a personalized message — this limit is significantly lower for free LinkedIn accounts than for premium accounts (such as Sales Navigator). When this cap is reached, Topo automatically falls back to sending connection requests without a message rather than stopping the sequence.
Note: You can connect your LinkedIn profile at any time after creating your Topo account — it does not need to be done during initial setup.
LinkedIn Sender across multiple sequences
The Sender tries to reach the daily target of one sequence first, then moves to the next. Example: 1 LinkedIn Sender, 3 sequences at 30 leads/day each → up to 90 leads/day before follow-ups. Best practice: keep per-sequence daily targets low when sharing one LinkedIn account.
Important: Do not use another LinkedIn automation tool simultaneously — it increases the risk of LinkedIn restrictions or bans.
Adding a LinkedIn Sender to an existing Identity
Go to Settings → Sender Identity.
Create a new Identity (do not reuse an existing Identity if you're adding a different LinkedIn profile).
Go to the sidebar, click "Settings", click "Senders", then click "Add Sender" or "Create Sender". Select LinkedIn and connect using either email + password (recommended) or cookies.
Save the Identity.
Assign this Identity to your sequence in the sequence's settings.
In your sequence, add LinkedIn steps (ensure a connection request step comes before any LinkedIn message steps).
Critical Configuration Warning: Each LinkedIn Sender should be linked to its own separate Identity. If you link multiple LinkedIn profiles to a single Identity, messages may be sent from whichever LinkedIn account the system selects, potentially causing messages to appear from unexpected accounts. Always create a separate Identity for each LinkedIn profile you want to use.
LinkedIn Message Queuing and Capacity Troubleshooting
Critical Issue: When the combined daily targets across all sequences exceed LinkedIn's hard limits (30 messages/day, 150 messages/week), messages will queue and remain in "Pending" status until capacity becomes available. Configured step delays will be longer than expected.
Example scenario: 1 LinkedIn Sender assigned to 7 sequences at 30 leads/day each = 210 messages/day required, but only 150 messages/week available → significant backlog and delays.
Capacity planning formula: Total required volume across all sequences must not exceed 150 messages/week to avoid queuing delays.
Troubleshooting pending messages: If LinkedIn messages remain in "Pending" status for extended periods, check if your aggregate sequence targets exceed LinkedIn's weekly limit of 150 messages.
