Why is my lead marked as "Succeeded" in a sequence?
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Context
When reviewing leads in a sequence, you may notice that a lead is marked as Succeeded even though the prospect did not respond positively or the outcome was not a success from a sales perspective. This can be confusing if you expect the status to reflect the sentiment or outcome of the interaction.
Answer
The Succeeded lead status does not reflect the prospect's sentiment or whether they responded positively. Instead, it refers to the completion status of the sequence. A lead is marked as Succeeded when the prospect has replied to any step in the sequence — regardless of whether the reply was positive, negative, or neutral.
If you want to review all the steps and messages associated with a lead, you can do so by following these steps:
Go to Leads and search for the prospect's name.
Click on the lead to open the lead drawer.
Under the Sequences section, you can view all the sequence steps associated with that lead.
Under the Activity section, you can view all messages sent and any replies received.
