Can I reuse warmed-up mailboxes for new email senders?

Last updated: July 2, 2026

Context

Customers may wonder whether it is possible to change the name and email address of existing mailboxes to repurpose them.

This is often useful when customers welcome new salespeople, or some of them leave. In order to continue their outbound motion, changing names of mailboxes ensures continuation of email sending.

Answer

Yes, existing mailboxes (email Senders) can be repurposed by changing the mailbox' name and address.

To have a mailbox repurposed for a new sender, please reach out to our support team with the details of the new email address(es) you'd like to use: : how many mailboxes should be repurposed, which ones, the new name(s).

Once the switch has been made, you will be notified and can begin using the new sender immediately. Make sure to change Sender Identity associated to the Sender, in order to ensure consistent naming across your sequences.

When a mailbox is repurposed for a new sender, there is no need to wait for a new warm-up period. The existing mailbox retains its warm-up status, meaning the new sender can start using it right away.
