How can I set up Hot Leads detection?
Last updated: June 25, 2026
In Topo, you can define the criteria to identify a hot lead. Topo allows you to set threshold values to determine hot leads. During your onboarding, Topo selects some default values, we recommend to change them based on your outbound strategy and your market.
To configure this, navigate to the sidebar, select Settings, and then Engage. In the Hot Lead Detection section, you can customize how hot leads are identified based on engagement activity. The configuration includes four options:
Open points, which represent the points assigned when a lead opens an email.
Click points, which represent the points assigned when a lead clicks a link.
Threshold, which sets the minimum number of points required to classify a lead as hot.
Time window in days, which defines the period to look back for engagement events.
For example, if you set open points to 1, click points to 2, threshold to 6, and time window to 7, Topo will review the past seven days to identify leads that have accumulated at least six points. These leads will be marked as hot, with points earned through either open or click activities. In this example, click points are weighted twice as much as open points.
