All the ways you can build a lead search in Topo

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This article walks you through every way to start a new lead search in Topo.

Four ways to start a lead search

1. From the Search page

Click Search in the left sidebar, then add your filters manually.

2. From the AI agent

Wherever you are in Topo, click the AI agent button in the top right corner of the page and tell it who you are looking for. The agent builds the lead search for you.

3. From Lists

  1. Go to Lists and click Create List.

  2. Choose Contact or Account.

  3. Give the list a name and select Lead Search as the source.

  4. Click Continue to Lead Search. You'll be redirected to the lead search interface.

4. From Accounts or Contacts

  1. Go to Accounts or Contacts in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Import accounts or Import contacts in the top right corner.

  3. Choose From Lead Search. You'll be redirected to the lead search interface.

On the lead search page, use the Use organization targeting toggle to control whether your Organisation Context filters are applied to the search.

Scoping a search to companies you already have

If you want to find new contacts at companies already in Topo, add the Account Lists filter to your lead search and select one or more of your saved account lists. The search then only returns people at those companies.

What you get back

Lead Search returns every result matching your filters. There is no sample and no preview step. From the results you can:

  • Select the leads you want and import them into a list

  • Import them straight into a sequence

  • Save the search and come back to it later

A list built from a lead search is static: it holds the leads you imported and does not grow on its own. If you want a list that keeps filling itself as new people match, create a Signal instead.
