Troubleshooting a List That Won't Link to a Sequence
Last updated: June 11, 2026
If you've attempted to link a list to a sequence but it doesn't appear to have worked, follow the steps below to identify and resolve the issue.
Steps to Link a List to a Sequence
Navigate to the Lists page, open the desired list, and click Link to a sequence.
Select the target sequence from the available options.
After linking, refresh the sequence page (on the Leads tab) to confirm the connection.
Common Causes and Fixes
The list hasn't been enriched/imported yet
Lists created from CSV lead searches must be enriched and imported before they can be linked to sequences. Until enrichment is complete, the list doesn't actually exist in your workspace.
Navigate to your lead search page
Click Import
Choose the number of leads to enrich (each enriched lead uses 1 credit)
After enrichment completes, the list will be available to link to a sequence
The list is already linked to another sequence
A list can only be linked to one sequence at a time. If the list is currently associated with a different sequence, you can still link it to a new one directly — click Edit on the Link to a sequence button and select the new sequence. The list will be automatically dissociated from the previous sequence.
The sequence is not in Active status
The target sequence must be in Active status for a list to be linked to it. Check the sequence's status and activate it if necessary, then try linking again.
No error message is appearing
Pay attention to any error messages or visual feedback when clicking to link the list — these can provide important clues about what's preventing the connection.
Sequence enrollment delay
When you link a list to a sequence, leads aren't immediately enrolled in the sequence. There is a short delay for each lead when it's enrolled in a new sequence.
