Context

If you have questions or trouble regarding list building, make sure to include a either screenshot, a link, or the name of your list. This will supercharge Topo's support.

Can I import contacts via CSV?

Yes. Include LinkedIn URL, professional email, and/or full name + company. LinkedIn URL gives the best match rate. The agent matches each contact against professional databases — some may be filtered out if data is outdated, the person changed jobs, or the email is personal rather than professional. Re-uploading won't bypass the matching process.

For international audiences, should job titles be in the local language?

Include both English and local language versions. Depending on the market, titles may be predominantly one or the other — covering both improves targeting accuracy.

Can I target followers of my company's LinkedIn page?

  • Go to the Lists page and click on "New List".

  • Either select the "LinkedIn" card, or ask the agent in the prompt section (at the bottom) to target LinkedIn followers of your company.

  • Adjust filters and refine your list, then save it and import contacts

  • Link that list to a sequence

Can I exclude certain industries or job roles?

Yes — you can add exclusions in the lead search prompt.

To exclude specific companies from your list, use the Company filters section and add each company under "Exclude Company Names". This exclusion applies only to the specific lead search being configured.

If the results aren't satisfactory, you can add exclusion filters ("Exclude Industries", "Exclude Job Titles") and update the search to see the results preview.

Thanks to this filtering system, you can adapt and refine your search based on the results previewed in the interface.

Can I combine intent signals with standard targeting?

Yes. Topo offers a wide range of filters to capture both strong intent signals and standard contact- and company-level targeting.

In your lead search prompt, either select the displayed cards, or write your own prompt to have the agent build your filters.

Note that based in the prompted intent signals, the agent will select the most suitable providers, thus filters capturing a different intent signal may not be available. In that case you would need to create a new lead search.

Can I target people who posted on LinkedIn in the past 30 days?

Yes. Create a new lead search by going to the Leads page and clicking on "New List". Then select the LinkedIn card, or prompt the agent to target people posted on LinkedIn in the past 30 days. You can add details regarding the company or the contact.

Note: you cannot specify the topic of the LinkedIn posts. If you do, the agent won't be able to filter for that and might hallucinate.

Why am I seeing contacts who left their company?

This comes from our data providers — an older LinkedIn profile linked to a previous role may still exist in the database while the person has since updated their current profile. The matching between old and current profiles hasn't been fully reconciled yet.

Can I update my list filters after I have imported leads in my list?

Yes, you can. If you are not happy with the leads coming in, you can update your list filters at any time.

To do so, go on the list's view, click on "Edit search" at the top > add and remove filters to your liking > click on import and select a refill frequency for the "Automatic import".

The agent will apply the new filters on the next import cycle, so you can refine your targeting without starting over.

Why am I not seeing certain leads in my list, even though they match my targeting criteria?

The leads you are looking for might be excluded by either a CSV you uploaded in your Exclusions, another exclusion rule, Organization Context or there is no valid email address available for them.

In your list, you can check the reason why a lead wasn't successfully enriched. Go to your list's page, apply a filter that shows leads with Status "Rejected", this way you'll see contacts that weren't enriched. Click on the name of a contact to open the drawer, which will show you the reason for the failed enrichment.

I'm building a list targeting LinkedIn followers of a company, how should I select the companies?

When building LinkedIn followers searches, if you start typing in the filter entry bar, you will see the names of various companies appear in the dropdown. Selecting one of those options is the ONLY way to successfully select a company.

The following options do not work:

  • pressing enter once you typed the company name

  • inserting the LinkedIn URL of the company's page

  • inserting the URL of the company's website

How can I import a fixed number of contacts per company?

When in the Lead Search interface, you can go at the bottom of the filters section to "Max contacts per account" and select:

  • none

  • 1

  • 2

  • 3

  • 5

  • 10

Once you'll import contacts in the newly created list, you will only get the selected number of contacts per company.
