What does the lead status mean (Enriched, Pending, Rejected)?
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Context
When reviewing your leads list, you may notice contacts marked with different statuses — such as "Enriched" — that you don't remember manually setting. This article explains what each status means and why all leads are now visible in your list.
Answer
Each lead in your list is assigned a status based on its enrichment state:
Enriched — the lead was successfully enriched. Topo found and verified an email address for this contact. These leads are ready to be added to a sequence.
Pending — enrichment is currently in progress. Topo is attempting to find an email address for this contact.
Rejected — enrichment was not successful. Common reasons include:
No valid email address could be found
The contact is excluded by your exclusion rules
These leads cannot be added to a sequence, but you can still engage with them manually — for example, by sending a LinkedIn invite or message directly.
Previously, Rejected leads were hidden entirely. They are now shown so you don't miss contacts that could still be worked manually.
Note: The lead count shown in the Lists overview only includes Enriched leads — Pending and Rejected are excluded from this count.
Investigating Rejected Leads
To verify why a specific lead was rejected:
Click on the lead's name to open the detail panel
Check the red panel titled "Why this lead was rejected" to find the reason for rejection
Check your exclusions in Settings → Exclusions (people/domains)
